Position | Director of Bridge and Beyond Program INTERNAL APPLICANTS ONLY | Division: | Academic Affairs | Department: | Success Center | Reports to: | Director of Success Center | Position Summary | Director of the Bridge and Beyond Program is primarily responsible for overseeing the entire operation of the program, including student recruitment, staff management, curriculum development, academic support, and overall program delivery. The Director is responsible for guaranteeing a smooth transition for scholars from high school to college and often focusing on underrepresented populations or those needing additional academic support, so retention and graduation are achievable. | Essential Duties & Responsibilities The results you will deliver each day that matter most! | Curriculum Development and Implementation: - Design and implement a comprehensive Bridge and Beyond curriculum aligned with the needs of scholars providing them with resources and strategies to be successful during their academic year
- Develop instructional materials, learning objectives, and assessment strategies to address academic and emotional gaps, trauma, and mental challenges to assist them in their transition to college
- Collaborate with Bridge and Beyond staff to ensure program curriculum is engaging and relevant to the needs of the scholars
Scholar Recruitment and Support: - Develop and execute recruitment strategies to attract eligible scholars to the Bridge and Beyond Program.
- Conduct scholar interviews and assessments to identify potential participants
- Provide comprehensive support services such as academic advising, counseling, personal development and community service opportunities
Faculty Oversight and Training: - Recruit and hire qualified Bridge and Beyond Program staff
- Provide ongoing professional development opportunities for staff to enhance their skills in supporting Bridge and Beyond scholars
- Monitor staff performance and ensure quality instruction delivery
Program Evaluation and Improvement: - Establish clear goals for the program to track the progress of scholars and program effectiveness
- Conduct regular assessments of learning outcomes for the scholars and program impact
- Analyze data to identify areas for improvement and implement necessary adjustments to the program
Budget Management and Resource Allocation: - Develop and manage the Bridge and Beyond program budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources
- Secure funding and grants to support program operations and initiatives
Stakeholder Engagement and Collaboration: - Build strong relationships with faculty and staff and community organizations to support scholar success
- Communicate program goals, progress, and outcomes to key stakeholders
| Education/ Experience What you will need to be successful! | - Master’s degree in education, instructional design, or a related field
- Experience in teaching, curriculum development, and student support services
- Strong leadership and project management skills
- Excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with scholars, faculty, and stakeholders
- Data analysis and evaluation skills to measure program effectiveness
- Understanding of student transition challenges
