UFPT is committed to operational excellence, safety, and innovation. We are seeking a dynamic Regional Fleet Manager to lead a team of Driver Managers and professional drivers, ensuring high performance, regulatory compliance, and a culture of continuous improvement.

In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing a team of Driver Managers and respective driver fleets. This role ensures operational consistency, drives performance metrics, and supports strategic initiatives across the transportation department. The ideal candidate is a strong leader with experience managing both frontline staff and mid-level managers in a fast-paced logistics environment.

The person in this role will report to the Fleet Operations Manager and will work with them and other team members within the organization to balance the needs of our customers, drivers and the business.

Location:

This role can be based out of Bartow, FL, Union City, GA, Salisbury, NC, or Ranson, WV.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and mentor a team of Driver Managers and professional drivers, providing guidance, performance feedback, and professional development.

  • Oversee the performance and compliance of fleet drivers through direct reports.

  • Develop and implement operational strategies to improve efficiency, safety and service levels.

  • Develop and implement initiatives to enhance driver skills and capabilities, ensuring they are well equipped to meet delivery demands and standards.

  • Conduct research to understand driver’s needs, preferences, and pain points, using insights to inform and improve our driver experience initiatives.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including planning, safety, HR, and maintenance.

  • Analyze performance data and KPIs to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.

  • Ensure consistent application of policies, regulations, and protocols.

  • Conduct regular driver meetings, performance reviews, and coaching sessions

  • Coordinate with regional safety teams to provide driver coaching and perform disciplinary actions as needed

  • Manage schedules and time off requests

  • Oversee and approve driver payroll

  • Collaborate with various teams to identify and implement creative solutions to improve recruitment and retention

  • Serve as an escalation point for complex operational or personnel issues.

Desired skills & experience:

  • Proven ability to lead through influence and manage change across multiple teams.

  • Strong coaching, mentoring, and conflict resolution skills

  • Experience conducting performance evaluations and development planning

  • Ability to foster a positive, accountable team culture

  • In depth knowledge of DOT regulations, safety standards, and fleet operations.

  • Strong judgement and decision-making under pressure

  • Experience resolving high-stakes or time-sensitive issues

  • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective business relationships across multiple functions

  • Working knowledge of TMS and understanding of system capabilities

  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in both oral and written format to all levels of leadership

  • Preferred experience and knowledge of UFP’s organization, culture, and product lines

Qualifications:

  • College degree in supply chain, business, financial or other applicable focus area preferred or 5+ years of transportation experience preferred
