HIRING RANGE: $16.41 - $18.87 hourly
- Bus driver must possess and maintain a NC Class B commercial driver's license (CDL) with a passenger (P) endorsement for the duration of employment with a 3-year safe driving history verified by a NC Division of Motor Vehicles
- Must be at least 21 years of age
-High school graduate or GED

Bus Driver specifically includes:

  • Drive vehicles over specified routes or to specified destinations according to time schedules, complying with traffic regulations to ensure that passengers have a smooth and safe ride.
  • Park vehicles at loading areas so that passengers can board.
  • Advise passengers to be seated and orderly while on vehicles.
  • Inspect vehicles, and check gas, oil, and water levels prior to departure.
  • Assist passengers, such as elderly or disabled individuals, on and off bus, ensure they are seated properly, help carry baggage, and answer questions about trip schedules or routes.
  • Load and unload passengers via accessible ramp as needed.
  • Handle passenger emergencies or disruptions.
  • Record information, such as maintain logbook.
  • Listen to and sometimes address passenger complaints.
  • Ensure the tour stays on schedule.
  • Account for all passengers before leaving a location.
  • Sometimes act as tour guides for passengers.
  • Regulate heating, lighting, and ventilating systems for passenger comfort.
  • Report delays or accidents.
  • Maintain cleanliness of bus or motor coach.
  • Make minor repairs to vehicle and change tires.
  • Working independently to provide superior customer service to bus passengers.
  • Bus driver must possess and maintain a NC Class B commercial driver's license (CDL) with a passenger (P) endorsement for the duration of employment with a 3-year safe driving history verified by a NC Division of Motor Vehicles
  • This position has been classified as DOT regulated and is subject to random drug and/or alcohol testing.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Enforces rules and regulations at parks and facilities.
  • Performs routine cleaning and custodial duties.
  • Performs related tasks as required.

Typical Qualifications

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Working and detailed knowledge of the specific operation in one or more of the concentrated areas of this position is required. Some supervisory experience is preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and training. Must have the ability to get along well with others; and the ability to work unusual hours, especially nights and weekends. Must pass a drug and criminal background check.

ACCEPTABLE EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING: High school graduate or GED; must be at least 21 years of age. Bus driver must possess and maintain a NC Class B commercial driver's license (CDL) with a passenger (P) endorsement for the duration of employment with a 3-year safe driving history verified by a NC Division of Motor Vehicles a safe driving history is also required.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bus driver & Shuttle Operator must possess and maintain a NC Class B commercial driver's license (CDL) with a passenger (P) endorsement for the duration of employment with a 3-year safe driving history verified by a NC Division of Motor Vehicles
  • 2C positions require a minimum of 10 hours/week
