JOB SUMMARY
The Concession Worker performs responsible concession and customer service duties as well as semiskilled work in the Parks and Recreation Department. Reporting to the Concession Manager, the Concession Workers works under general supervision sufficient to monitor achievement of key performance indicators.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: The duties listed below are intended only as illustrations of the various types of work that may be performed. The omission of specific statements of duties does not exclude them from the position if the work is similar, related, or a logical assignment of the position.
- Operates cash register; counts start-up cash and ensures enough change is available.
- Operates concession stand, maintains drinks and other concessions; restocks as necessary.
- Greets and assists patrons, collects fees, provides recreational equipment; assists with programming activities.
- Answers telephone.
- Rents equipment, collects, inventories and stores equipment.
- Maintains ridership or participation records.
- Records each patron on sign-up sheet, totals and verifies fees collected.
- Inventories supplies and equipment.
- Enforces rules and regulations.
- Performs light to moderate custodial and beautification work; ensures overall concession area is clean and well-maintained.
- Performs related tasks as required.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- General knowledge of the operation of a concession stand or recreation facility.
- Ability to understand and follow oral and written directions.
- Ability to perform record keeping and mathematical calculations.
- Ability to get along well with others.
- Ability to work unusual hours during the summer months.
