The Production Control Specialist is responsible for coordinating materials, inventory, and production requirements to support efficient and uninterrupted manufacturing operations. This position serves as a key link between Production, Procurement, Logistics, Suppliers, Quality, and other cross-functional teams to ensure materials are available when needed while maintaining appropriate inventory levels.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Key responsibilities include monitoring production schedules and material requirements
  • Identifying and resolving shortages, managing supplier delivery performance, maintaining inventory accuracy, and coordinating corrective actions for material or inventory discrepancies.
  • The Production Control Specialist analyzes inventory levels, demand, Days on Hand (DOH), production changes, and supplier conditions to proactively identify risks that could affect production.
  • The role supports cycle counting, physical inventory, inventory adjustments, warehouse and material-flow improvements, and investigation of inventory variances.
  • The specialist also works to reduce excess and obsolete inventory, premium freight, expedited shipments, and other unnecessary logistics costs.
  • Additional responsibilities include maintaining production control reports and KPIs, communicating material risks to management, coordinating engineering or production changes, supporting new product introductions, and participating in continuous-improvement activities.
  • The Production Control Specialist is expected to use ERP/WMS systems and data-analysis tools such as Excel to monitor performance, identify root causes, develop countermeasures, and improve production control processes.
  • Success in this position requires strong analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills, along with the ability to prioritize multiple requirements in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • The overall objective is to maintain material availability, inventory accuracy, production continuity, and effective inventory control while supporting safety, quality, delivery, cost, and productivity objectives.

Annual Salary: $55,000 - $69,000
