Primary Purpose
The Director of Media & Integrated Planning drives how Food Lion reaches and motivates customers and prospects to grow sales and marketing ROI. The Director of Media & Integrated Planning owns full-funnel media strategy, planning, activation, and measurement across paid, owned, earned, and social channels; orchestrates creative production workflows; and stewards a $60MM media and $25MM production budget (~35% of the total marketing budget). The role champions audience-first planning, rigorous test-and-learn (to future-proof the mix), agency and influencer programs, and talent development. Collaboration spans Brand Creative/Design, ADUSA central resources, Brand Strategy, Comms, and cross.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Identifying, executing and managing all media channels and placements for the Food Lion Brand
- Delivering effective and efficient media plans across all active brand campaigns, while maintaining holistic approach for total Food Lion brand
- Delivering consistent media ROIs, including annual improvements in both effectiveness and efficiency
- Designing and delivering annual test and learn media plans with potential to scale in years 2 and 3 to future proof the brand and maintain competitive leadership
- Owning and delivering social media strategies and executions to build brand recognition, affinity, and impact with social audiences
- Managing brand influencers
- Managing all internal team production timelines and processes
- Change leadership of coordinated team planning and production processes to land new Food Lion briefing approach
- Managing external media agency partners and oversight of third-party partnerships
- Collaborating and coordinating activity with ADUS central resources and internal Food Lion constituents
- Identifying AI-enabled processes and approaches to enhance production, planning and execution
- Talent development -- leadership and coaching, capabilities development
Qualifications
- Strong collaboration and integration with key stakeholders across brand creative and design, ADUS center, brand initiative strategy, comms and more
- Deep understanding and experience across media channels, analytic models, and delivery
- Strategic mindset - total systems approach to identifying opportunities and solving problems

- Ability to manage multiple competing priorities and successfully deliver timeline milestones
Preferred Qualifications
- Expert in audience-first, Omni-channel campaign development
- Proven track record of optimizing media mix and delivering progressive ROI performance
- Intimate understanding of Food Lion brand pillar and brand communication strategies
- Proven ability to coach and deliver sustained top performance of direct reports
- Proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities and successfully delivering against key milestones
- Proven leadership track record with progressive leadership experiences
- Ability to effectively manage large budgets, identifying effective and efficient spends
- Project management
EDUCATION
- Master's Degree (preferred)
- Bachelor's Degree (mandatory)
Experience
- 10+ years experience developing and leading omni-channel media planning and execution (agency and client-side)
- Client-side omni-channel campaign leadership experience
- Progressive leadership roles
- Experience managing budgets of $50MM or more
- Coaching and development
- Change leadership

- 3 days in office
- Hybrid: 3 days in office per week.
