Position Summary

The Leadership Talent Development Specialist supports the design, execution and ongoing refinement of our Food Lion Leadership College Portfolio to ensure sessions are delivered consistently throughout the organization in support of our Brand, Strategy and Culture. In addition to the ongoing refinement of curriculum and materials, a large portion of their time is spent facilitating adult learning in one-week to four-week long leadership college sessions. In addition, this role supports retail leaders to deliver the Retail Management Trainee Program experience to selected candidates, to develop our high potential recent college graduates. The role also entails the delivery of adult learning modules regionally to retail leaders and their teams as needed to support our overall talent development strategy.

Principle duties and responsibilities

  • Responsible for the consistent delivery of our Leadership College Portfolio, on time and on budget.
  • Facilitate adult learning in one-week to four-week long leadership college sessions.
  • Maintain a documented replicable model for curriculum design, delivery and facilitation.
  • Ensure curriculum remains on pace with our Brand, Strategy and Culture, changing business practices, external benchmarks and best practice, and adult learning design.
  • Coordinate session scheduling/execution in partnership with divisional retail leadership teams.
  • Support business partners who deliver learning content to ensure consistent delivery and experience to participants.
  • Accurately track and report Leadership College Portfolio expenses and manage P-card process in support of retail attendees not on Concur.
  • Support the design and delivery methodology to meet mission critical leadership development needs.
  • Support RMT program in partnership with TA, OD, and Retail Leadership.
  • RMT candidate onboarding and immersion to our Food Lion Brand, Strategy and Culture.
  • Year one retail training rotation training design and delivery.
  • Retail Leadership immersion and support to ensure retention and consistent trainee experience.
  • Learning group and team project design and facilitation.
  • Ongoing RMT talent planning and career progression to ensure ROI and associate retention, with a focus on defining a replicable model to attract and retain millennial talent in an inclusive, diverse, multigenerational diverse workplace.
  • Collaborate with Diversity, Talent, OD and Learning team to design and deliver adult learning content to retail leaders.

  • CMP learning modules (formerly DAU courses)

Basic Classification

  • Minimum of 3 years in a Retail Management position.
  • General knowledge of and experience with Adult Learning Theory.

Preferred Qualification

  • Proven track record of success as a highly performing Store Manager, Operations Initiative Specialist,
  • Merchandising Specialist or other key leadership position.

Education

  • High school Diploma
