Position: Adjunct Instructor: Chemistry

Division: Division of Mathematics and Science

Department: Biology Department

Reports to: Chair of the Department of Biology

Position Summary:

Livingstone College seeks applications for adjunct faculty in Chemistry.

The applicant will teach chemistry at the undergraduate level Including

general and organic chemistry. Candidates must be committed to utilizing

innovative teaching techniques in the instructional setting and using

technology to enhance student learning. He/she must possess strong

communication skills and be dedicated to providing quality instruction for all

students served. Teaching experience at the college or university level is

preferred. The college is committed to diversity in the recruitment of

students, faculty, and staff.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

The results you will deliver each day that matter most! Essential Duties include: Developing and/or updating course syllabi, planning and creating lectures, class discussions and other student assignments, grading student assignments and exams in a timely manner, maintaining regularly scheduled office hours, and submitting essential assessment and QEP data reports and grades. Participation will be encouraged in departmental faculty and staff meetings.

Education/ Experience:

What you will need to be successful!

• M.S. in Chemistry, Ph.D. in Chemistry preferred.

• College teaching experience preferred.

• Demonstrated ability to work with diverse student populations.
