Position | Full-Time Faculty (Assistant or Associate Professor) Computer Information Systems | Division: | Division of Business | Department: | Computer Information Systems | Reports to: | Dean of the Division of Business | | Position Summary | The Computer Information Systems (CIS) faculty member supports high-quality instruction, curriculum development, student engagement, and academic advising. The successful candidate will bring current technical expertise, effective teaching practices, and a strong commitment to student success. | | Essential Duties & Responsibilities The results you will deliver each day that matter most! | - Teach assigned Computer Information Systems courses in accordance with approved course objectives, curricula, and institutional academic standards.
- Deliver engaging, student-centered instruction in areas such as software applications, programming, databases, networking, cybersecurity, data analytics, cloud computing, and related technologies.
- Contribute to the review and improvement of the CIS curriculum to ensure alignment with student learning outcomes, industry standards, and emerging technologies.
- Create an inclusive and supportive learning environment, communicate course expectations clearly, and provide timely feedback on student progress.
- Advise and mentor students regarding degree progress, internships, professional certifications, and career opportunities.
- Use Blackboard to post course materials, assignments, announcements, grades, and other required information.
- Maintain accurate academic records and submit attendance, grades, assessment data, and other required documentation by established deadlines.
- Participate in departmental meetings, curriculum and assessment activities, committees, professional development, and other service responsibilities as assigned.
- Other duties as assigned.
| | Education/ Experience What you will need to be successful! | - Doctorate degree in Computer Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a closely related field from an accredited institution.
- At least 18 graduate credit hours in the assigned teaching discipline, as required by institutional credentialing standards.
- Demonstrated academic or professional expertise in one or more CIS areas, including artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, data analytics, database management, networking, systems analysis and design, programming, or cloud computing.
- Previous college-level teaching experience and a demonstrated commitment to student-centered instruction are preferred.
- Strong communication, organizational, instructional, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency with Blackboard or a comparable learning management system is required.
