Position | Executive Director of Student Leadership & Engagement | Division: | The Division of Student Affairs | Department: | Office of Student Leadership & Engagement | Reports to: | Associate Vice President of Student Engagement | | Position Summary | The Executive Director of Student Leadership & Engagement provides strategic and operational leadership for the Office of Student Leadership & Engagement at Livingstone College. The Executive Director manages the daily operations of the office and leads initiatives that strengthen student leadership, campus engagement, involvement, and institutional pride. The Executive Director supervises the Director for Student Activities and Coordinator for Student Engagement and provides oversight for the Student Engagement Development Center, Student Life Marketing Committee, and Student Center Workers. The position also coordinates departmental assessment, reporting, strategic initiatives, and student employee and advisor development. Serving as the direct advisor to the Student Government Association and advisor to the Fraternity & Sorority Life Council, the Executive Director provides guidance in governance, leadership development, organizational effectiveness, accountability, and student advocacy. The Executive Director also develops and coordinates signature leadership education experiences, including the Student Leadership Retreat and First-Year Student Leadership Conference, & Leadership Development Series while collaborating with campus partners to create meaningful opportunities that support student development, belonging, and engagement. Through these efforts, the Executive Director advances a dynamic student experience that reflects the mission, traditions, and strategic priorities of Livingstone College. | | Essential Duties & Responsibilities The results you will deliver each day that matter most! | - Manage the daily operations of the Office of Student Leadership & Engagement.
- Directly advise the Student Government Association.
- Supervise the Director for Student Activities and the Coordinator for Student Engagement.
- Oversee the Student Engagement Development Center.
- Supervise the Student Life Marketing Committee.
- Oversee Student Center Workers
- Coordinate departmental assessment, reporting, and strategic initiatives.
- Develop leadership education experiences including the Leadership Retreat and First-Year Student Leadership Conference.
- Support advisor development and student employee supervision.
- Advise the Fraternity & Sorority Life Council
- Other duties as assigned
| | Education/ Experience What you will need to be successful! | - Master's degree from an accredited institution in higher education administration, student affairs, counseling, leadership, or a related field.
- Three (3) years of progressively responsible professional experience in higher education student engagement, student activities, campus life, leadership programs, fraternity and sorority life, or related functional areas.
- Experience cultivating collaborative partnerships within Student Affairs, across academic and administrative divisions, and with local and community stakeholders.
- Experience supervising, developing, and evaluating professional staff.
- Strong collaboration, communication, and strategic leadership skills.
