Location: Salisbury, North CarolinaJob Type: Full-time Miller Davis, Inc. is searching for a dynamic, analytical and detail-oriented staff accountant who can prepare and manage financial transactions, compile and review financial statements and evaluate agency performance effectiveness and efficiency. In a small agency, each day will be a little different which allows the ideal candidate to continual grow and develop, relying on sound accounting, reporting and financial analysis skills. This role will report directly to the President. Miller Davis, Inc. is a unified team delivers personalized, impactful, and cutting-edge solutions that expand our clients’ businesses. Key Activities, Tasks and Responsibilities of our Staff Accountant- Reconcile bank statements, credit cards statements, PayPal and other cash transaction sources.- Complete reconciliation of all General Ledger accounts.- Create weekly and monthly client and project billing.- Complete accurate and timely reporting of time, product and costs to client jobs.- Review payroll and coordination of payroll processing (hosted externally).- Manage the Accounts Receivable aging, including aging follow up.- Coordinate weekly vendor payments and manage Accounts Payable aging.- Create weekly financial updates and monthly financial statements.- Create weekly cash flow projections.- Create and file sales tax reporting.- Create reports required by external CPA firm.- Develop, monitor and report on effectiveness analyses.- Develop, monitor and report on efficiency analyses. Professional Skills & Qualifications Required- Be productive, focused, goal and action-oriented, results-focused, analytical, methodical, reliable and team-focused.- Have 3+ years’ experience in an accounting role in a service organization.- Have practical knowledge of GAAP and accounting rules and procedures.- Be able to effectively use QuickBooks.- Create, analyze and use financial statements and performance metrics.- Is a critical thinker and able to solve problems in real time.- Is an exceptional oral and written English communicator.- Is able to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment. An AS/BS degree in accounting, finance, business, management or a related field is preferred but not required.
