Job Summary:

Expertise in MIG welding techniques, focusing on the assembly of components, parts, and structures. A strong ability to interpret technical drawings and adhere to work orders is essential. This role demands precision and a dedication to delivering exceptional craftsmanship.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Positions parts in jigs or fixtures on bench or floor, or clamps parts together along layout marks
  • Lays out, positions, and tack welds work pieces
  • Welds along vertical, horizontal, and overhead weld lines
  • Connects regulator valves to oxygen and fuel gas cylinders for cutting torch. Turns regulator valves to activate flow of gases, lights torch, and adjusts gas mixture and pressure to obtain desired flame. Holds & guides torch at proper angle to cut metal
  • Examines weld for bead size and other specifications
  • Scarfs or grooves welds and parts
  • Chips or grinds off excess weld, slag, or splatter
  • Complete tasks while adhering to production schedules
  • Communicate any issues or quality concerns to department Supervisor
  • Ensure compliance with all safety and quality standards
  • Operates all tools and equipment safely.
  • Reports any safety issues immediately to the manager.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

  • Candidate must be able to pass a 2G welding test in GMAW process with .045 solid wire
  • Six months of MIG Welding experience required
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, uninvolved written or oral instructions
  • Knowledge of basic math, tape measure reading
  • Ability to read blueprints and measuring tape preferred
  • Experienced in a fast-paced production environment preferred
  • Able to pass all EHS requirements
  • Understanding of manufacturing methods and procedures
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and perform basic mathematical operations
  • Ability to follow instructions under limited supervision
  • Refuse (Waste Truck) experience is preferred
