Starting Rate: $24.25 + full time benefits
Job Summary:
The Chassis Prep will do prep work (Installations/Welding/Fabrication) for the hoist mounting process and install certain components onto Truck Chassis.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Reviews the truck chassis with the model of the hoist to be mounted and plans out what steps are necessary to complete the installation.
- Install some of the electric, pneumatic, and hydraulic components needed prior to the hoist mounting process.
- Connects hydraulic hose from cylinder to oil tank
- Inspects work before the truck is moved on in the process
- Operate a handheld plasma, huck gun, torch, air drill, and chain drill as part of their everyday duties.
- Operates a forklift to move components as needed.
- Must be able to read a tape measure.
- Have mechanical knowledge in truck parts installation.
- Complete tasks while adhering to production schedules
- Communicate any issues or quality concerns to department Supervisor
- Ensure compliance with all safety and quality standards
- Operates all tools and equipment safely.
- Reports any safety issues immediately to the manager.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven ability to assemble based on written and verbal guidelines.
- A minimum of six months experience in a manufacturing environment, with proficiency in using various measuring instruments.
- 1+ years of mechanical experience.
- 1+ years of welding experience.
- Electrical Knowledge is a plus.
- Understanding of manufacturing methods and procedures.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to maintain accurate records and perform basic mathematical operations.
- Ability to follow instructions under limited supervision.
- Refuse (Waste Truck) experience is preferred.
